5 Reasons to Book a Twin Cities Newborn Photography Session

Table of Contents

You have spent the last 9 months planning every detail of preparing for a baby to arrive and now he or she is finally here! I remember organizing my daughter’s dresser for the very first time before she was born. All of her little onesies and jumpers fit into one drawer in her baby nursery because they were so small. I kept thinking, will she really only wear these for just a few weeks or maybe even just a month? Time with a newborn truly goes by so quickly and the saying that the days are long, but the years go by so quickly really is so true! I wish I could have preserved every detail of those first few weeks when my babies entered our lives, but lifestyle newborn photography sessions weren’t quite a thing yet in the early 2000s! This is why I truly love doing this for other families!

Here are 5 reasons why I think booking a Twin Cities Newborn Session are so important!

Newborn Sessions Allow You to Take a Break and Just Focus on Loving Baby

As soon as you walk into my Minneapolis Studio you enter a relaxing space. Your session will take place between 2-8 weeks after baby has arrived. It will be one of the first times, besides going to the doctor’s office, that you will be stepping out of the house with your little bundle. I recognize that this is a momentous task and I want to provide you with an amazing experience. My newborn photo sessions are tailored to the needs of new parents. They provide you with an opportunity to leave behind the stress of surviving the day-to-day with a new baby and allow you a chance to simply breathe, take it all in, and marvel at the new little one who has changed your whole world! When you enter the studio coffee and tea will be ready, soft music will be playing, and all of the details of your session will already be prepared for you. You can quietly sit and feed baby whenever you need to and a diaper changing station is at the ready. Multiple dresses curated just for you from my Client Wardrobe will be hanging next to your private changing area and the most beautiful outfits, wraps, and vintage bonnets and flower crowns will be laid out for baby. You literally just need to come, relax, and celebrate your baby as a family as I photograph all the details.

I have been photographing families and babies for over ten years! I am also a mom of three girls and have been understand everything you are going through (you can read more about me here!). I will always provide a listening ear and an empathetic heart to every momma that I work with and my clients become like family to me. I was also just awarded Master Newborn Photographer status from the National Association of Child Photographers following a rigorous portfolio review and testing, so, rest assured, you will be in good hands! My goal for every session is that my clients are able to let go of their stress and simply rest and feel loved. I prepare you every step of the way. Every client receives my Newborn Session Prep guide so that they can feel confident and ready come session day.

    A Time to Celebrate

I always tell my clients, don’t think of this as just a photo shoot, but a moment in time reserved for you and your family to celebrate the arrival of your new baby. You may get emotional during your session as you look at your little one swaddled up in your arms. Look at what you have created! My newborn sessions are meant to be stress free. I will guide you every step of the way. There are no artificial back drops, or lights, and the space is designed to be cozy and relaxing. I design it differently each session. From comfy couches to a pretty bed to a special chair for mom and baby to cuddle, you can just rest and enjoy every moment. Your main job will be to focus on baby and your growing family!

A Perfect Way to Make Siblings Feel Special

Becoming a big brother or sister can be hard. Your entire world is turned upside down and mom and dad are really busy with this new baby! I have designed my newborn sessions to be a very special experience for siblings. Toys and books are laid out just for them to play with. During session time, we not only take images of them with baby, but also special images of them being loved by mom and dad! They may even have their very own big sister or brother picture taken all by themselves. In other words, I want them to feel included and celebrated during your session. I want them to feel important so I provide them opportunities to be “my helper” and to assist me with photographing mom and dad! There is plenty of space for them to run and play in the studio and snacks will be waiting just for them. At the end of the session, they receive a gift just for being such a great big brother or sister! My Newborn Session Prep Guide has great tips for preparing siblings, too!

    Beautiful Memories Turned into Art

One of the greatest gifts I can give my clients are preserved memories transformed into art for their homes. From baby’s tiny fingers and toes, to mom’s joyful and sometimes tearful expression, to dad’s loving arms holding his family close, these are memories you will always want to remember and to see on the walls of your home. Every collection I offer provides a print credit for you to use in your gallery shop toward beautiful heirloom print products. From photo books to framed art, your gallery will show you a variety of ways to display these memories! Even better, choose my Newborn Milestone Collection.
