What Should I Wear for my Senior Photos?

Your senior photos are all about your personality and the things you love! This should absolutely shine through when it comes to your outfits. Not only will choosing outfits you love that represent who you are make your images more authentic, but it will also help you feel comfortable during your time in front of the camera! Typically, seniors wear two to three outfits during their photo session. Here are just a few of the options that seniors typically opt for! A combination of any of these is the perfect way to go for your session. For example, choosing something formal, something casual, and something related to an activity you love can make your photos feel well-rounded and reflective of you! Read on to see some examples of outfits my past seniors have worn, and for some helpful tips!

The Classic White Dress

A white graduation dress is a classic staple for senior girls. Many choose to end their session with this option after wearing their more casual outfits — it’s the big finale! Just because a white dress is a classic doesn’t mean it can’t be personal or representative of your style! Explore different textures, shades, lengths, etc. to find the white dress that’s right for you!

Jeans and a Fun Top

This is a great option for a more casual outfit! You want your senior photos to reflect your everyday style, and for many seniors, jeans are the perfect way to do just that. Plus, you’ll feel much more comfortable in front of the camera in an outfit that feels like you!

Flowy Skirts

Almost everyone feels awkward in front of a camera at first. Wearing something with movement is a great way to keep your photos from feeling stiff and posed! Flowy skirts give you something to focus on and move around with, making your images interesting and fun! They’re also a great alternative to jeans if those aren’t for you!

Twirly Boho Dresses

Similar to flowy skirts, twirly dresses are another great way to incorporate movement to your photos! Want to make your session even more special? Take a look at the dresses I have available in my client closet! I have gorgeous gowns from places like Reclamation Design Company that can add something extra to your senior photos!

Your Favorite Uniform

Your senior pictures are meant to document your personality and interests, so of course we should include your favorite sports! Athletics are a big part of your high school experience, and we can celebrate all of your accomplishments in your pictures!

Mixing Sports and Casual

If you want to include your sports interests in a more subtle way, we can do that too! Wearing your letter jacket with your favorite jeans or your ballet shoes with a fun dress is a great way to document both your personal style and your favorite activity!

These are just a few ideas of outfits that could work well for your senior photo session!
