images of strength and hope
PRESERVING YOUR STORY, SHARING YOUR STRENGTH, GIVING OTHERS HOPE
Images of Strength and Hope Is a program which sheds light on the experiences of individuals and families of all kinds, including those who have a loved one with special needs or are struggling with a chronic illness.
Ann Marie’s Storytelling sessions provide a family with a written account of their journey, beautiful photographs which preserve the unique beauty of who they are, and a book which can be passed down for generations to come. These stories hold value in what they can teach us about life, the power that lies beyond our limitations, and the hope that results in sharing our journey. Through them we may identify our own joys and struggles and realize we are not alone.
CURRENT stories
Stories of Strength and Hope is a collection of stories of families who have a loved one facing a disability or chronic or terminal illness. These stories share the details of their challenges while reflecting the strength and hope that have resulted through every step of their journey.
Meet a boy who has overcome all expectations through the miracles that God has done in his and his family’s lives.
My second HopeKids Minnesota Family photo session that teaches us a valuable lesson. Live your life in the moment. A simple, yet incredibly powerful statement that breaks through our fears and offers us Hope.
This is a continuation of my series of Hope Kids Sessions. These special needs family photography sessions are a venue through which families with a child who is facing a challenging disability or illness are able to share the story of their journey and the Hope that results from their experiences. Through these stories we see struggles which help us realize we are not alone. We see trust when everything else is out of control. And we discover the things which are most valuable in life: “hope, faith. and love, but the greatest of these is love.” I Corinthians 13:13.
This is my most recent family photography session that I did as a volunteer for HopeKids Minnesota. Megan and Nick are amazing parents to Teddy age 4 (their Hope Kid) and Max age 1. It was such an honor to photograph families this Fall and, especially, to chase around such fun little boys. Almost every session I did had rambunctious little boys, full of life and incredible energy!
Family Photo Sessions are hard and naturally demanding, but incredible opportunities for learning. You need to become accustomed to a unique family dynamic almost instantly. It is learning on your feet at its finest. Many times the goal for a session is to capture something that is beyond just a pretty image for a Christmas card, but is rather to preserve a moment in a family's journey that celebrates challenges that have been overcome, while preparing for those that are yet to come.
