Memory Art: Why Printing Your Professional Family Pictures Is Important

A Memory Book is a part of every Newborn Milestone Collection. It preserves a family’s life in 3-4 different photo sessions over the course of one year. Parents submit stories, poems, or words of blessing to their child in each book.

How often does it happen that you get your family photos taken from an amazing professional photographer, you receive the digital images, you are excited, you share them on social media or on a Christmas card, and you tell yourself, “I should really print some and put them in a gallery wall in my living room?” But then, time goes by, and a year later, while you are scrolling through your photos or working on your computer, you find them just sitting there, untouched. We have all been there. We have all done this. Yes, even me! We live in a digital age full of distractions and so many things are just left undone or forgotten. However, I want to make the case that a lot of these things are the most important things that we should be doing and I am here to help you easily take those digital images and turn them into Memory Art that has a permanent place in your home.

How I can help? After a client’s session I can place their images in a form image like this to show them what their photos will look like hanging on their walls!

Engraved or glass photo boxes are not only a great way to preserve your images, but a beautiful way to display them if you don’t have a lot of wall space. They fit easily on a shelf or a coffee table. I use an incredible company called Hanging Branch for all of my custom orders.

How do I this for my clients? First, I determine what their needs are and what their vision is for photographic art in their home by having them describe their vision for their photographs in their Client Scheduling Form. After their session they receive a slideshow of their images along with a link to my Memory Art Collections. Next, they receive their proofing gallery from which they can work with me to order what best meets their vision. What I am learning is that clients actually don’t even know what they want or how to begin. I am finding that it is my job to educate them and lead them through this process.

But there’s more to it right? Your photographs hold a lot of power. They preserve memories, frozen in time. They reflect details of your loved ones that pull on your heart strings whenever you look at them, that remind you of a special moment in time, or move you to feel thankful for the most important things in life. If this is what you dream your images to be, then a Gallery Wall of collected images, matted and framed would make that vision a realty. This wall could grow with time and could be interchangeable as you have more photographs taken over the years.

Photo Boxes are perfect when you don’t have a lot of wall space and you can reuse them throughout the years.

Put yourself in your kids’ shoes! What do these images mean to your kids both now and in the future? When my kids look at their Memory Books that I have made throughout the years what do they love the most? They love seeing what mom and dad looked like when they were little. They love seeing the little details of themselves when they were babies or how they interacted with their siblings. They love seeing what they wore or the beautiful places they played together with their family. What’s the best way to preserve these images? In a beautiful Memory Book, linen or leather covers, engraved with your child’s name, printed on fine art paper or thick, card stock paper. How do I make these books special? Every client is able to send me writings that they want within their book. Whether a poem, a favorite story, or sweet descriptive words about their child, each segment is placed in a book to be preserved forever! These books are priceless and I work hard to make them a beautiful heirloom for you!

What if you don’t have a lot of wall space, but still want to display your art? Glass or Linen Photo Boxes filled with prints. You can have these displayed on a shelf so that you can look through them whenever you need a boost of joy in your life. What about canvases? Whether a 20x30 single canvas above your fireplace or a collection of canvases in your baby’r room, I can help you choose the perfect images to print on a canvas. Did you know they look best in 3s? A collection of three canvases is pleasing to the eye and brings balance to a wall.

The most important thing is that ordering prints does not have to be hard. Just match what you order to what your goals are! I can easily fulfill these goals for you and take all the stress out of bringing your Memory Art into reality!
